Directions For Use:
Safe Performance Special Diet is formulated for mature horses in good body condition for whom controlled starch intake is desired. Safe Performance Special Diet should be fed with hay and/or pasture; high-quality forage should make up at least half of the complete diet. Many horses will have the majority of their caloric needs met by the forage they consume. Feed Safe Performance Special Diet at a rate necessary to support the desired body condition and activity level and provide other essential nutrients. Use 2–4 lbs per day as a starting guideline, adjusting as necessary to meet the needs of the horse. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. If you have questions about how to use this product in your feeding program, please contact Manna Pro at (800) 690-9908.
Change to this feed gradually over a 5- to 7-day period. Do not overfeed or offer this product on a free-choice basis. When feeding grain, divide the amount fed daily into two or more feedings. Do not feed more than 0.5% of the animal’s body weight in grain (½ lb grain per 100 lbs of body weight) at any one time. Maintain a regular feeding schedule. Provide fresh, clean water and adequate forage at all times. Do not allow hot, exercised horses free-choice access to water until they have cooled down. Work with your veterinarian to develop a comprehensive equine health program.
Caution: Follow label directions. Feeding added selenium at levels in excess of 0.30 ppm in the complete diet is prohibited.
Reminder: Feed is perishable. Store this product in a cool, dry area away from rodents and insects.
Warning: Do not feed any product that is spoiled, moldy, rodent or insect infested, or abnormal in appearance or odor, as it may cause illness or death. This product contains supplemental copper. DO NOT feed to sheep or other copper-sensitive species.
