And, he has served as a mentor for hundreds of today’s most successful horse trainers.

Van Berg is also a life-long Calf-Manna® user and attributes his success in winning thousands of races, including the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, in part to the fact that all of his horses were fed Calf-Manna.

He remembers helping his father feed the supplement to their family horses back in Nebraska when he was a boy. Today, Jack and his sons Tom and Tim continue to feed Calf-Manna at the Van Berg Racing Stables in Inglewood, CA, and La Grange, KY.

Horse Racing Legend
Van Berg is a legend and perhaps one of the most well-known personalities in thoroughbred racing history.

He trained 1987 Kentucky Derby winner, Alysheba, and is a member of the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame. In addition to these notable achievements, he has accrued a long list of accomplishments as a conditioner and owner of thoroughbred race horses.

Jack is known as a patient horse trainer, able to individualize programs for his charges, and willing to experiment when necessary. Jack may have had one of the best mentors in the country in his father, the late Marion Van Berg, also a Hall of Fame trainer. Marion Van Berg holds the record for the most racing wins in a horse racing owner’s career—4,775.
